Agata's hometown - Butera, Sicily

Agata grew up in the hilltop town of Butera

Butera dates from the 4th Century B.C.

Street entrance to house where Agata grew up

We were fascinated by the narrow streets

Most streets were not much wider than sidewalks

Agata happened to run into the father of one of her classmates

I'm sure these doors could tell some stories

The produce comes to you - artichokes, leeks, cauliflower and oranges

Local farmers bring their produce into town and go street to street to sell

Clothes dryers are rare...most people hang their clothes out to dry

A man I met on the street directed me to this photo opportunity...oldest part of Butera is down those steps
