Westphal Big Spring

Westphal Big Spring (headwater spring) forms a small pool of crystal clear water. As the water flows toward the Geronimo Creek (approximately 100 feet), many small springs and seeps and one large spring(photo #2) provide additional volume to the stream.  The last photo shows the spring stream flow just before it enters the Geronimo Creek. This is one of the more substantial springs along the creek and according to the Westphal family...this spring continued to flow during the severe drought of the 1950s.
