After leaving the Sterler farm, I headed southwest toward Sioux City, Iowa(wondering if I would be able to cross the Missouri River). I glanced at my road map, and found that the next town, Le Mars was designated "The Ice Cream Capital of the World" so I left the main highway and went into town looking for ice cream. It turns out that Le Mars is the home of Blue Bunny ice cream which according to town folks is the top selling ice cream in the world. The ice cream store was closed for remodeling but a coffee shop(Habitue) that I had seen advertised coming into town was across the street so I headed for it. For a guy that doesn't drink coffee, I have become quite a sucker for small town coffee shops...great places to meet friendly people, get local information, enjoy a cup of hot tea, and get connected to the internet. A couple hours later and I was back on the road headed for Sioux City. No problem crossing the Missouri River and I drove the rest of the day and spent the night in Salina, Kansas. Picking up the local paper at the motel desk, I read that tomorrow morning there was going to be a 5 mile run at the city park at 7:00. Long hours sitting behind the steering wheel of the car was taking a toll on my back so I decided to run the race and maybe it would help lossen up my back. Alarm set......

I thought the billboard for Habitue Coffee House was catchy
