Friedrich Wilderness Park Hike

Drove to Government Canyon (just west of San Antonio) for a morning hike. It was a gorgeous day but unfortunately all the trails were closed due to the rain earlier in the week. Changed plans and met friend, Mike Sanders, for lunch in Boerne and then hiked Friedrich Wilderness Park in the afternoon.
The park has about 5 miles of trails of which I hiked about 1 mile.  It was the perfect time to enjoy the fall wildflowers.  The wildflowers were beautiful but the most amazing thing I saw was the number of fruits that were on the Texas Persimmon trees. They are ripe when dark and are edible... I bet I could have gotten Grace to try one... these were sweet but you have to be real careful not to get the juice on anything because it stains everything black
