Boundary Peak - Highpoint of Nevada - 13,143 ft

On July 17,2008, Ed Waley, Mike Nondorf and I flew out to Las Vegas, rented a car and headed north through desert for about four hours. Last stop for gas or supplies was Dyer, Nevada.  From there we proceeded to the Boundary Peak trailhead and set up our tents.

Long lonely gravel road to trailhead

Trailhead

We had already been on the trail for half an hour when the sun came up.

We have a lot of distance to cover today

Headed for Trail Canyon Saddle

This was our last chance to get a little shade...

Prospective

The view to the other valley from trail canyon saddle

On the trail - lots of loose rock from here on out

There it is!

Trail just kind of disappears and we follow the ridgeline

The sun is intense but the altitude brings a coolest

We made it!

Summit

At summit....clouds are starting to build up

Headed back to trailhead
