Sally and I drove down to Galveston for "Dickens on the Strand" . We didn't know what to expect except that it would be a festival type atmosphere with performers dressed in characters from the Charles Dickens stories. It far exceeded our expectations as there were performers from choirs, falconry, and story tellers plus plenty of street food booths. Even the Queen of England journeyed to Galveston to bless the the festival. Also there were many visitors that also choose to dress up for the occasion so we saw many more period costumes than just those performing. It is quite a fun time and we highly recommend going as we are planning to go again next year.
