50th Anniversary Trip - Olympic National Park, Washington

Olympic National Park - We visited two areas of the park that couldn't be any more different - Hoh Rain Forest and Hurricane Ridge

On the drive into Hoh, these giant sentinels guarded the roadway

The forest floor is dominated by mosses and ferns

Two basic colors make up the forest floor - green and brown

Gigantic horsetail Plants

If you fall asleep on this forest floor, I think you would be covered in moss when you wake up.

Some how these trees fell side by side with just enough room for a pathway. This could only happen in the twilight zone.

This bee has found blackberry blooms

In the Olympic Mountains, high and cold

Plenty of snow to play in at Hurricane Ridge

Olympic Mountain Range

Snow is exciting when you are from Houston!
