Grandson Ryan is in third grade at Silver Lake Elementary. During career week at school, I brought my observation beehive to school and visited with third grader about bees and pollination. When I presented to Ryan's class, he showed what an amazing helper he is and spotlighted the queen for the rest of the class.
Many times, when I go to my apiary to check the beehives, nine year old Ryan goes with me because he has no fear of the bees and he gets right in there and handles the combs. More times than not he finds the queen before I do.
