Bird watching at Quintana Beach

April and May are the months that our migratory songbirds head north from their wintering grounds in Central and South America.  They fly nonstop across the Gulf of Mexico from Yucatan to Texas. When they reach land and especially if there is a north wind, they will "fall out". This is the birder's term for the birds coming down in especially large numbers as soon as they reach land so they can re-energize  We got to observe a couple of different warblers and I tried to get photos but they are very hyper and my camera's focus is too slow.  Time for a new camera.

The one bird photo that I did get was egrets, ibises and spoonbills on a nearby pond.
