Chelydra serpentina

I caught this 26 pound(weighed with my new fishing scale) Chelydra serpentina in the Geronimo creek this morning. This is  one ugly creature which was made even uglier by the cluster of leeches attached to his head.  Before anybody gets too alarmed about these creatures being in the Geronimo creek, you need to know that under the water these creatures are inoffensive, pulling in their heads when stepped on.

Snapping Turtle

Large numbers of these turtles are caught in southern United States for making soups and stews...decided not to butcher this one.
