Devil's River - 1993

Pics of Devil's River - 1993 - Large group from Victoria(mostly duPonters).... We put in at Dolan Creek Natural Area and paddled 33 miles in three days and  got out at Rough Canyon Marina on Lake Amistad.  Kurt was so determined to go with us that he tied himself to the canoe trailer on  the morning we were to leave. I was so moved by his determination to go that I decided to let him skip school and go with us. That turned out to be a wonderful decision.

Camping at the end of second day

The water was too shallow to run a canoe unless you could manage to stay in the grooves cut into the river bottom
The beauty of this river is unmatched in Texas

Climbed to a highpoint for this photo of the Devil's River

When we reached Lake Amistad at the end of Day Three....David and Jim took off on a beer run to the Rough Canyon Marina

Even Archie was eyeing that cold beer
