50th Anniversary Trip - Columbia River Gorge

Columbia River Gorge was not what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be  a deep narrow chasm of  great natural beauty.  It turned out to be even more beautiful than I expected but the beauty was displayed in endless waterfalls and wildflowers galore.  We had great weather which helped make this an unforgettable day.

There it is - Columbia Gorge entering from the west.

Goat's Beard - identifying plants made easy now that I got the "Picture this" app.

White Sturgeon - They can get to be twenty feet long. These 6-8 footers can live to 100 years old. This was taken at Bonneville Fish hatchery.

At Hood River, you could view Mt Hood to the south.  Our little ducking's were awe struck.

On May 22, 2004, Ed and I climbed to the summit.
