Disney World vacation during Summer of 1974

Sally and I took our first long road trip to florida to visit Disney World during summer of 1974. It included sightseeing around French Quarter in New Orleans and a visiting Marineland on the Atlantic coast. We had to go on a shoestring budget, so we had to cut some corners by making our own meals and we stayed in a tent the first night.  One very unfortunate thing happened when we were camping ... I dropped my glasses on restroom floor and shattered one lens. This was before you could get replacement lenses done in a few hours and I had no backup glasses so I had to make the rest of the trip with just one seeing eye.

Bourbon Street at night was crazy!

French Market still served as a fruit and vegetable market back then.

I don't remember why so many photos were out of focus but it was a camera that you had to send the film in to be processed so we didn't know until we got home. This is the reason that I bought a 35mm Minolta before Erin was born in 1976.

Our little home away from home.

Near St Ausgustine on the Atlanta coast, we visited Marineland

Marineland was the number one adventure park before Disney World opened near Orlando.
Awesome show!
