Sara, Erin, Chris and I ran the Duckfest 5K on Saturday morning on a very flat course that followed a county road bordered by grain fields. We all recorded "new best times" and both girls medaled. Sally, Justin and the grandkids (and Grace's pillbug collection) were there to cheer us at the finish line.
The Duckfest had lots of activities for kids with lots of chances for them to win duck themed prizes... like a kazoo, sand art duck, duckbill quacker, walking duck, etc. The culmination of the festivities is the duck race.... thousands of little numbered ducks are dropped into the creek and prizes are awarded for the first few ducks that float down to the finish line. We entered a couple of ducks in the race but they were not very good swimmers. Maybe next year..
